15
A bloody good bloke was my Dad, Sid. Today is the 15th anniversary of his passing. He was only 53.. went down with the Mighty C.. only gets the good ones.
15 yrs is a life time, and so much has happened, so much because of the circumstances in how he died. Something like that certainly moulds who you become, and gives a different perspective on how you live life from then on. Quite significant when you're only 18.
He was a great man, kind, generous, loving and devoted to his family. His hobby was building model boats, A Furniture maker by trade, he was meticulous in everything he did, right down to the smallest detail.
The blip, not nearly as morbid as earlier, includes his Magicians top hat, he was in the Magic Circle, Shoes"Sould Shoes" straightout of the 70s (I've always love these shoes), The wedding photo of Mum and Dad (who fitted the traditional roles to a T) is from 1965, they are walking under a guard of honour of magicians wands. The A-Frame house, our holiday home which he built in 1976, filled with 'everything you wouldn't have at home', wow, it always looked super modern, we still have the canary yellow and brown furniture in our lounge!
An old flatmate once made the comment, "it's the 'nothing' things that mean the most"... this is so true, it is not until someone is not there, that you realise, it was the little 'nothing' things that formed so much of who they were, and what made up their relationship with you. - deep huh
A very special man who never wanted to be forgotten, no chance, XO
