Before / After

Today I've begun the task of painting our front deck. As you can see, it was in serious need of help. I don't mind painting actually, I like it! Something about how it makes everything clean and new again makes me happy. However, this deck is surrounded in lattice and painting that is less than fun and a seemingly endless task.

I'm sure I will be pleased as punch when its all finished. I'll wait to finish my planting until I get the base section painted as well. No point in wrestling plants to paint a porch if I don't have to. :)

I'm hoping if I am able to stay on task and the weather holds out that we can enjoy the porch for the holiday weekend. Looking forward to a little BBQing and fun.
