Million Year Sentry

This is a photo of a huge piece of petrified wood. Actually it's two pieces found separately and then fit together perfectly. It's most likely millions of years old, and what a tale it could tell if it could speak.

Now, it stands guard near my pond, and the ivy is creeping towards it and around it.

There is a fuzzy spot to the left that was in both pictures I took of the log, but not in any of the other photos I took of other things at the same time. So, it wasn't a smear on the lense.

I believe there is life force in everything. Could this be the stone's spirit? I have a great imagination, don't I. Whatever it is, it's mysterious.
