Day 1 in the Country

Our friends in northern California have a newly renovated kitchen with beautiful views overlooking their ten acres of pond, sheep pastures, and oak trees. They have a watch burro named Holly too. Apparently coyotes won't attack sheep if there's a donkey in the pasture to protect them. I thought it was strange too, but it seems to be working. I bought a pair of socks from their neighbor who raises alpacas. Alpaca socks are very nice. Alpacas are funny looking, especially right after they've been sheered.

I like this kitchen. There are very few standard cupboard doors. Instead they designed it with lots and lots of drawers instead. Everything is in those drawers - plates, pots and pans, etc. Very efficient.
