Reading to Maudie

This evening we visited our local community center because a couple of months ago, A had signed up for a 30-minute slot in their "Read to the Dogs" program. She gathered a pile of her favorite books and we went to meet Maudie, a gentle collie, and Maudie's owner Elizabeth. A read to Maudie while E and I entertained ourselves in the center. When we returned to pick A up, I struck up a conversation with Elizabeth and we discovered that we live five houses apart on the same street! It's very likely that we've seen Maudie walk past our front window dozens of times! Small world.
