Looong drive
This is what I feel like after driving long hours at night...specially if it's been raining and if there are lots of cars coming from the opposite direction. That was not the case today, though, in spite of the boring flat drive between Ashburton and Timaru. I had some good music on, so sang my way...
Anyway... today...cloudy day, which was good for my wanting to rest my knees, still. Did nothing in the morning (ok, finally cleaned the kitchen) and tried to read some, but fell asleep every 5 lines. And this because the book is indeed interesting, imagine if it was boring...
After lunch, went to a ski sale to try to find some cheap skis. Of course they were all too big for me, so ended up with nothing...no, not true. Found some really nice boots, a helmet and goggles, for less than 150 dollars. Not bad.
Back home, finding a clean kitchen, I finally got the courage to do some cooking. Cooked all the meals for the whole week and froze whatever I had to. Still hate cooking. Always wonder if I'll get over this feeling one day?
Tried reading again, without success once again....I guess next time I should turn off my electric blanket and try reading somewhere less cozy than my bed.
Finally, at the end of the day I drove to Ashburton to meet Chari and Tommek. I was supposed to meed them in Christchurch, but it'd be too tiring to drive 2 1/2hrs each way, so we agreed to meet halfway. They are leaving to the North Island and then to Europe, so I won't get to see them again (at least not so soon) and I REALLY wanted to say goodbye. So 1:20hrs later we met at an Indian restaurant (whose owner cheated on the price, bastard) for dinner (my dinner because since they only eat raw food, they had already eaten).
I will certainly miss those two! They are the kind of people who you fall in love with straight away and become friends forever... Now I really want to visit Poland one day...who knows...it's been added to my list!
After a sad goodbye, I finally drove my car back to Timaru (another boring drive, this time in the rain, luckily with very few cars coming the other way) and took this photo on the way.
