This city needs an ice-cream

The city was burning this afternoon.

I did a one hour walk down Almirante Reis Avenue, a multi-cultural but slightly dodgy area, with some gutter-like streets.

Passed by the sleeping homeless people. The stumbling junkies. The indo-asian stores. The area people getting fresh air on the street. The misplaced tourists.

Everyone was moving in slow-motion, strenght drained out by the heat.

Rain is expected next week. It will be received with relief.
