Roll the Ceiling Back
After a day of getting "a little of this and a little of that" accomplished, I was in our upstairs office when Mr. Fun strolled in and said he'd been in the backyard making the pool sparkle. He wanted to know if I would like to join him in the spa. It was about 4:45. He suggested that we might want to first fix dinner.
So I headed for the kitchen. I sliced four onions--steamed them slightly and then added them to a couple of onions that were in the saute pan browning nicely. I then steamed some zucchini, and then some mushrooms and added them to the onions. Meanwhile I steamed a separate pan of broccoli and a separate pan of asparagus. I made a spinach salad and used an organic raspberry vinaigrette on mine. He used diet dressing on his. He cooked his own diet main dish and I fried a sirloin patty for me.
As soon as we had eaten, he did the settings to record the television's national news, and in a few short moments we were in the spa. It felt like rolling the ceiling back and just enjoying the sky.
It's been just a year ago that the restoration on the pool was started. It had needed to be surfaced when we moved in here 16 years ago. It only took us 15 years to get it accomplished (why rush it?). It's been a worthwhile investment. So this evening we soaked in the hot bubbly water for about 90 minutes. Enjoying every moment.
So here I am again blipping late, while the evening news, recorded earlier, tells about the horrors of oil in the Gulf of Mexico. It is all so disturbing, so maddening, so sad.
The weekend is here. Hope you are going to or already are having a great one.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. I am so behind in my blip commenting. If I could double myself, maybe I could get caught up. Not sure Mr. Fun could tolerate two Rosies!
