Surfers

R and I went to the premier of a new surf movie at the La Paloma in downtown Encinitas. This is the third surf premier I've been to now and I always find them fun even if the movies themselves are a bit of a snore (R finds them exciting though). Mostly I like to go for the people watching. We always find ourselves waiting in line at the front for hours (because we arrive insanely early) and chatting with people next to us. Surfers are generally laid back and very friendly people even if their fashion sense is awkward (so many boys wearing mix-matched plaid ... It hurt my eyes!).

After the movie we stayed for a Q&A with the two pros who made the film. I decided that in my next life I'd like to cone back as a pro surfer...it's the life, man. Traveling around the world, making cash hand over fist for wearing a certain brand of clothing, spending your days on beautiful beaches...

If only professional knitters could have that life. So unfair.
