A day in the life of a supply teacher

Well this is how it works as a rule.
I lie in bed til I get a call from the lovely Gail of Gail's Daily Tales fame. (Today was an exception as I have a regular Friday slot at my local comp).
I then scramble madly around, throwing on my teachers 'uniform' and a lunch of sorts into my teaching bag. Given the red hot temperatures of today I ended up with soup.
I then race to the school in need of my services and get a cover sheet, like the one pictured, to tell me what delights await me that day. On this particluar day it was double RE (nice) then three lessons of PE, two of which were 15 & 16 year old boys PE lessons. Given that I am a 5' 3", blonde woman, you can imagine my delight....
Having said that I must confess to loving my job and the variation and flexibility it allows me. I always thought supply teachers were mugs, or people who couldn't do the job properly. Now seeing it from this side, it's the supply who have it sussed. I wouldn't go back full time in one place for a gold cow!
