Castle on the doorstep

This is part of the remains of Flint Castle which stands on the Dee Estuary. The history of this Castle is in the link if you want to know more.

This shot looks out over the esturary towards the Wirral Peninsular. The sandstone of this and other structures always fascinates me, the way time and the elements cause errosion. There are many patterns in the stone.

Many visitors come here but unfortunatley there are parts that you can't enter and it remains locked. This is due to vandals I think who have no respect for their heritage.

This Castle is just around the corner from where I work.
