A glimpse of OZ?

:) Technically, this is not my best photo today...I spent some time getting some good shots of baby ferns..Lovely-but they just didnt mean as much as this shot :)

This photo, and the man in the photo, just makes me smile. He lives in the neighbourhood and I dont even know his name but he always stops and chats or at least hollers a hello. He is always smiling and he always has his dog with him....normally in the bike basket :)

While i was trying to decide between this photo and the fern :) I began to think about how important the people on the fringes of our lives are. Im talking about the neighbours we say hello to, the people working in the local store, the teachers at the local school...these people who, although they may not quite be our close friends, they brighten up our daily lives and give us all a sense of belonging.....lovely!
