Obsidian

Have always loved obsidian - the black diamond of gemstones. I'm a big fan of black anyhoo - basically my entire wardrobe - and it extends to this stuff. I love it when it is carved, smoothed and polished to a mirror shine.

However, this hunk is in its raw state - brought back from my travels in Armenia. Seems it is one of the world's top producers of the stuff, and we drove past mountains just glistening with huge obsidian rocks, sparkling as the sun hit them.

Another reason to love that country...
