Lateral Thinking

These beautiful off shoots appealed much to my aesthetic sense today. I do not know from where came the word 'lateral thinking' to my mind. The human mind is excellent processor, it starts processing and searching relevant data once it sees any matching or differentiation.

As far as I remember lateral thinking talks about thinking in different directions rather than in the same direction.

One other word my mind is familiar with is 'parallel thinking' which means thinking in parallel and in the same direction. I think that I can not think further about all these heavy terms except to think that the poor man with little access to money and educational tools solves his problems only by simple thinking. He is unaware completely of logical, critical, vertical, parallel and lateral thinking.
