I love a good medical drama and this place has seen it's fair share in our family.

My daughter, Katie was born here in 2002
My son, Tommy was born here in 2005
My daughter, Maggie was stillborn here in 2008
and wee Alfie was born here last October.

Today, aptly considering the theme, I heard that the labour ward at BGH has bought it's new birthing pool, the last one in which I gave birth to Tommy was on it's last legs and was in serious risk of springing a permanent leak.

They started to raise funds in 2009 and we donated all the money raised from selling Maggie's Flowers to the cause, raising over £600.

Maggie's Flowers are knitted flower broaches made by family, friends and strangers from all over the UK.
