And Here's the Other One

Gaol, that is. Jedburgh Castle Jail was built on the site of the old Castle, itself torn down by the townsfolk after it was achieved by Scots forces in 1409 to denies its future use by invading English (it was the last Scottish fortress in English hands).

The Gaol was opened as a state of the art Howard Reform Prison in 1823 and closed in 1877. Now it houses the town museum and the reputed home of several ghosts.
