Breaking News

I've managed to get to London despite the threat of flight cancellations due to the volcano in Iceland having sent a new plume of ash toward the UK. My flight home to Seattle claims to be only delayed by an hour, so there's hope yet that I'll make it home.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying fish and chips (along with what they call "mushy peas") along with a pint at a fine pub within Terminal 5 at London's Heathrow airport. On the TV is the "Breaking News" that things are returning to normal for Heathrow and Gatwick, while the northern UK and Ireland are still experiencing closures. So I'm considering myself pretty lucky to even have a chance of getting home today...
