Light on Deck

It has been hellishly hot today. I don't know what the maximum temperature was but I should imagine it was the upper 80s at least, maybe even touched 90 degrees.

The heat, combined with the processing of images from the Boston trip that still has to be done, meant I wanted something close at hand for today's post. As has happened in the past, a contemplative cigarette on the back deck provided inspiration.

I was struck by how the sunlight filtering through the upstairs deck was striking the lower one and constrasting with the grain of the wood.
