Aren't Weekends for Recuperation?
Synopsis of the Day:
7:45am - 12:30pm:
Gary working with youth group for Mexico Mission Trip fundraiser (window washing at people's homes)
8:30 am:
Tonya drops Landon off at the ballpark in uniform for his game (Nana attends in place of mommy)
9:00am - 11:30am:
Tonya & Papa take Loren and Liam to Saturday School. Papa goes to Liam's glass to watch his Life Cycle Presentation on the Life Cycle of a Frog and an Oak Tree. He also evaluates a child's poster/presentation in place of mommy doing it. Tonya goes with Loren to view the 5th grade play and to fill out parent surveys for each of the boys teachers & waits to meet the principal of the school Loren is moving onto next year. She never showed up. Than ran to the book fair....waited in a claustrophobic book fair room with 1/2 of the school. Put a spending limit on the boys choices (hey, I'm a thrift-store book buyer and the boys think we have a magical money tree). We left the school with a Star Wars book set for Liam, a 2010 World Records Book for Loren (he gets one each year) and the newest 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days' book for both of them to share.
11:30am-12:00pm:
Ran over to the sporting goods store to try to find a last-minute belt/socks with the colors from the team Loren has NOW switched to since his team of the Giants dissolved! They had them...YAY and thank you, God! Found time to feed them all thanks to the Dollar Value Menu at McDonalds and then......
12:30pm-3:30pm:
Loren's Baseball game with his new team, the As. He did well, and played 3rd base most of the time. THIS PICTURE I CAUGHT WAS HIM HITTING IT TO THE OUTFIELD. HE MADE IT TO 2ND BASE WITH THIS HIT. I thought it was funny that I got the fans from the opposing team in the background looking in the direction to where the ball was hit. It will be an adjustment to the coach to try to rotate all of the players into positions, now that we added 4 players to his team. We SOOO appreciate his willingness to take these players (along with our son) onto his team in the 2nd half of the season. I was relieved that alot of these players have already been our son's teammates in our prior seasons of baseball, making him feel more welcome.
3:30pm:
Took Loren to Lockeford to spend the night with his best friends, Jesse & Chris (a belated birthday celebration for Jesse). They had water balloon fights, trampoline jumping, swimming & tent sleeping. He came back the next day a happy and tired boy.
4:30pm:
Came home and packed Liam a bag and went back out to Lodi and took him to spend the night at his best friend, Cody's house for Cody's birthday celebration the following day.
5:30pm:
Husband takes off to get take-out Olive Garden and a movie rental to celebrate us SURVIVING THIS DAY. hee hee We rented a Video on Demand movie for Landon until fell asleep, The Princess and the Frog (yes, I was surprised by his choice...but the belly-laughing made me realize he made a good pick). We felt an obligation to appease poor Landon because his brother's were both at sleepovers, and he stated over and over again how he never gets to sleepover with friends (he forgets he's only 4).
8:30pm+:
Mommy and Daddy (& bro-in-law) movie time...rented 'Love Happens'. Have to admit I wasn't too thrilled with this Jennifer Aniston movie. Oh well, the purpose was to wind down...and we did!
==========================================
To my three boys....read this lengthy blip someday when I'm an old lady and appreciate our 'taxi-cab' ways. ha ha I do realize you probably think at the moment that anyone above the age of 30 is already old...but by the time you read this you might not :D
To my parents/Nana & Papa....thank you for helping us today in place of Gary's absence! Don't know what we would have done without you!
