Thistle Down

By Ethel

I Wish

O I Wish...O I Wish,
And I wish for sure.
That I could be standing,
Just one time more.

Standing on a spot,
Where in my youth I grew.
Where the magic of creation,
Was what I knew.

Would that I could,
Feel that same sweet loam.
And follow along the hills,
That lead to home.

That I could cast my eyes,
On that slow winding stream.
That I could take up the threads,
And weave a bright dream.

O I Wish...O I Wish,
As I have wished before.
That I could be standing there,
Just one time more.
