Black Dog Molly

We made our way over to Leek in Staffordshire where the Morris dancers Black Dog Molly from Stoke on Trent were performing in the Butter Market during the food festival. They follow the tradition of Molly Dancing which is all quite anarchic and wild. At least one of the dancers will be a man dressed as a woman and most will have their faces blacked up so that they can't be recognised. A pity it is still rather cold for standing to watch but good fun all the same.
