Spanish Bars...
This is our local bar for 'jubilados' or retired locals. Very few younger people come here. Saturday morning is an opportunity to catch up with friends over an 'amuerzo' which is an extended mid morning breakfast including cooked meats, salads, beer, wine and spirits. It's usually takes around an hour and is a fixed event in everyone's weekend diary.
This photo was taken in the bar away from the main eating area which has rows of tables for friends to eat together. It gets pretty raucous.
Note the open window at the end of the bar where people can drink and chat on the pavement outside, without actually entering, but are able to interact with the people inside. The small glasses on the bar are shots of the local generic aniseed liquor brewed locally here in Cullera.
A black and white shot suited the atmosphere this morning, but unfortunately took away the beautiful white blooms of the bunch of lilies on the bar.
