Offski!

We are off today for a week to Boat of Garten, a village near Aviemore. This is one of our favourite areas of Scotland with mountains, lochs , forests and quiet country roads.
We have packed our bikes, boots, books, cameras and laptops, and are looking forward to chilling out after the maelstrom of the last month.

May used to be the month in the Highlands when you could almost expect to be delivered of a heatwave. However we're not expecting miracles this year given that the Cairngorms had a fresh fall of snow this week. As long as it doesn't rain for the 7 days, we'll get out for a walk and a few cycle runs, but no skiing despite the title of the blip.

Hopefully cafe Mambo in Aviemore will still be around to provide me with coffee and internet access.

PS The santa box standing at the left of the blip contains son#1's belated Christmas present. Better late than never I suppose.
