Different Culture

This afternoon, I popped into the beauty salon. This photo is what greets you when you go in. Subtle.

This evening I went to a party at a Qatari home. It was for women only, as is the custom here, but there was loud Khaliji (Gulf) music (great drum beats - you can find it on Youtube), a lot of dancing (by people of all ages) and a slap-up meal. It was fun! It was held outside in the courtyard, (thick carpets were placed on the ground to dance on) and there was oud brought round (smoking wood wiith a great scent) for people to waft into their hair.
