Monchhichi

The 80's party that a colleague organised for her birthday last week sparked a lot of discussions in the office. Everybody was sharing childhood memories, like our favourite TV shows, music, people, video games etc.!

Colleague A. and I discovered that we both had a Monchhichi back in the day. You know, that cute thumb sucking monkey! We were trying to explain to another colleague what a Monchhichi was so we googled it. Apparently they came to Europe from Japan at the end of the 70's and disappeared again mid-90's.

On Monday I received a small present from colleague A. Guess what was in it? A small Monchhichi keychain! They are selling them again!

Colleague A. went shopping last Saturday and came accross this big window display full of Monchhichis. What are the odds? So she went in and bought me one! Thanks A.!
