gourd

Today we went on a boat to the Summer Palace, via the Five Pagoda Temple and Purple Bamboo park. Folk were out in the park painting, singing, playing jianzi (kicking around a shuttlecock-type thing with bright feathers) and just wandering. This group were amateur gourd-pipe (called hulusi, I think) players, and treated us to a little concert. Lovely day.
