View of Haro Strait from Mt Doug (Victoria BC)
We regularly climb Mt. Doug (a big hill really) for exercise. This view north shows Haro Straight on the right, the body of water between Vancouver Island and the mainland (southern BC and northern WA).
Camus (purple) and Broom (yellow) are in full bloom. The Broom is a problem for our Garry Oak ecosystem however. It is taking over, and the Garry Oaks and Camus and a lot of other species are suffering. The story goes that some Scotsman brought three broom plants to North America, and now they have propagated everywhere. A very prolific weed.
This is a stitch of four iPhone snaps.
