Bad Day...Good Day
I'm left contemplating why I continue on working where I am.
My list of pros is less than the cons, but are so much bigger than the cons in terms of who I am as a person.
These last four years have effectively ruined any confidence I had that would help in searching for a new job...I wonder if that has been the plan all along? Hmmm.
If the economy wasn't so stinking bad, I'd buck up and do something about this.
Anyway...after the boys had a bath, I intended to run outside and grab some flowers to try some indoor shots since I couldn't muster the energy to get out in the freezing rain for any photos today. As I opened the front door, I was slapped in the face by a gorgeous setting sun.
I grabbed the boys, threw on their sweaters and hats and buckled us in the man-van. I headed out to my favorite sunset spot and parked. I slid over to the passenger side and rolled down the window.
As I was shooting away, I thought...."I wonder if pddesigns is here??" I turned, and there she was with her new kayak roof racks! And she wasn't alone. Another friend from work (who will soon be a blipper I'm sure of it) was also out with her camera. She works in our library and has actually coordinated a photography competition for our students. She rounded up some of us to judge the competition (me..thanks to pddesigns, pddesigns, our graphic artist, and our photography instructor).
So the best part of this story comes straight from the competition webpage..."There will be a panel of 4 judges who are professional photographers, graphic designers, and photography instructors."
Pddesigns and and I are listed as professional photographers! Made me laugh out loud, giggle a bit, laugh out loud and then giggle a bit more.
So shhhhhh...don't tell anyone I'm not a professional. *wink* Don't want to ruin my coolness. I wouldn't mind being one at all of course. If I could figure out how to support my family doing this, I would be the first to sign up!
Update: I almost forgot the best part of my day! Pddesigns gave me her old camera bag, and it is so amazing. I just packed everything in it a moment ago, and I squealed. Thank you my friend!!!!
