RIP
Once, 25 or so years ago, it was young and lively. It had so much energy it would dance all round the kitchen, spinning, but we fenced it in. It never had any of those embarrassing little leaks that seem to affect us when we get older. Occasionally it dribbled a bit down its front but a new rubber ring sorted that out.
In recent years though the dribbling has increased, eventually becoming quite a flood every time it was asked to do any work. It made the most dreadful fuss about it too, a horrible screeching noise that resounded through the whole house and vibrated the floorboards.
This morning an expert called and said nothing more could be done, we'd have to get rid of it. It has an unrepairable crack in its middle. I've been looking at new models....
