Mother's Day
The only mother in our house. This is Lois and we will be married 49 years next month.
Traumatic experience today. On the spur of the moment I invited her out for breakfast, thinking that we could just walk in and get a table. We went to a nifty butterfly garden to eat outdoors on the patio, but the hostesses were dressed in black dresses and announced that they had been taking reservations for a month and that we couldn't get in.
Next we went to a favorite place, IHOP. There was a huge crowd outside with no hope of getting in.
Next stop was the Hilton El Conquistador. Big line with no hope of breakfast.
Next stop was the Sunny Side Up, a local, really neat restaurant with checkerboard tile floor, and chicken mementos and paintings on the wall. Again a huge line.
Soooooo.....we went home and I cooked a celery omelette. We had a nice Mother's Day breakfast and a big laugh. Lois gets a lot of credit for being a good sport, and I love her!
