Night Market Street Food
So far, we've gone back and forth going either to the Shida Night Market, or the Shilin Night Market for food and exploration.
Tonight, the Shida Night Market gave us some most delicious food.
First, we picked our food and put it in red baskets. We chose only vegetables, including broccoli, baby corn, green peppers, green beans, noodles, lettuce, and tofu. After giving the full red basket to the vendor and paying him, we wait in line with all other red basket patrons for the cooking lady to do her magic.
The contents of each red basket get dumped into another basket for cooking, and emerged in a hot flavorful broth for cooking.
Basically, everyones foods are cooked together, juices mixing, so it's not ideal for vegetarians, but The Goose still wanted it, and it turned out amazing.
Earlier in the day, we took a day trip to Danshui, a cute fishing town that has taken advantage of the tourist potential. It reminded us a lot like the Oregon Coast's Newport Beach area with lots of eateries and souvenir shops.
Another fun day
