Bats in the Belfry!
After a busy day at work I went for a walk in search of Bats!
This is All Saints Church Daresbury birthplace of Lewis Carroll whose father was the vicar here. I was pleased to find a number of bats flying round the church and I will return with a bat detector one evening next week.
What are bats doing now: May
Female bats are beginning to form maternity colonies and are looking for suitable nursery sites, such as buildings, trees or bat boxes. Male bats of most species will roost on their own or in smaller groups.
'Bats in the belfry' refers to someone who acts as though he has bats careering around his topmost part, i.e. his head.
