Lago Nahuel Huapi
Finally, we're on our way after the BA nightmare. Our first night camping after a week of waiting for our bags (and the tent) to arrive from London via Brazil. Grrrr. Still makes me back even though I'm backblipping this from 2010.
This was the view from our tent looking across Lago Nahuel Huapi. We packed up, drove to the nearest town, Villa La Angostura, and walked through the Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes spotting beautiful wild flowers and trying to avoid huge horseflies.
We then headed over the border to Chile where we encountered huge amounts of rain at Puerto Montt. After exploring the roads around the town and realising that no ferries were running (one was out of service and the other one was elsewhere) and the road south was closed, we ended up staying at a five-star hotel since we couldn't camp out in such wet. The guy on the counter was lovely and gave us a much reduced rate seeing as we'd arrived at one in the morning. One of those good holiday experiences - well, after the stress of finding a place to kip for the night was sorted.
