First Peony

we lived in iowa before we moved to indy. i had five peony plants i planted about twenty years ago in my old garden. when i returned to iowa last fall, i noticed that the apartments we had been living in were abandoned. so, my girl friend and i proceeded to dig up my five large peony plants. we divided them and gave parts to other girl friends who lived nearby. i took some home to indy and planted them.

this is one on my favorites, the white one, and it is the first to bloom due to being in the most sunny spot. i will be sharing the others with you as they bloom.

in case you didn't know, peonies live 60-70 years. if you dig them up, then they start all over with their long life.
