Horse & Rider

I'm doing a website for a local livery yard - got to pay to keep those horses somehow!

Today was the first photoshoot, and I had this one picture in mind before I got there - a formal horse & rider portrait.

The sky was exactly how I wanted it, so we did this shot first. It hasn't worked out quite as I wanted it - I was hoping to be able to drop the ambient light another stop or so, but found my flashes just weren't powerful enough to still light the subject when I cranked the aperture down. Largely because I didn't want to place them too close to a flighty horse...

Maybe later in the day next time so there is less ambient light to overcome.
