Belgian Carthorse

Today lots of cities and villages had festivals to celebrate LiberationDay. Today 65 years ago we were liberated from German occupation.
In Scheemda (the village in which my parents live) they had a procession with al kind of floats. I've seen many beautiful once but non of them could compete with this carrage with Belgian Carthorses. It's a very old breed (first bred in the 17th century). Between WW1 and WW2 many of them were shipped out to America to help cultivate the American prairies.
Now they're getting more and more popular for helping cultivate the woodlands.

Once back in my hometown Assen I took this picture of the marketplace where people were enjoying the music and the nice weather.

I also spotted another Blipper, caught Fomu searching for a nice picture.

Some shops were open, and one of them was selling house-shoes in the shape of Dutch klumps, this is definately my Almost Blipfoto.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day as much as I did, I now know that the one thing I missed was the sun and warmth. (Cold weather is bad for me feeling happy)
