Stepping back in time
For the past few weeks there has a hive of activity beneath the City Walls - the archaeologists have dug a trench to reveal evidence of life around the Walls to get a better understanding of Chichester's history.
Thanks to Blip, I had the courage to ask if I could take a photo of their findings which were drying in the sun having just been washed. Most of their finds were Roman terracotta roof tiles and shells with a few animal bones (top left corner of the photo).
The dig is a three year project and will be open to the public on Saturday.
