Back with my own lenses, I decided to try and use the experience of using the Sigma macro (and the lesson) yesterday. Supported by a wonderful clear blue sky, this was what I could manage with my Tamron

I'm seriously tempted to branch out, but I mustn't underestimate what I can do with my existing gear.
