Keeping Score

My son decided to learn how to keep a scorecard during tonight's Mariner's baseball game that featured the debut of star pitcher Ciff Lee against the division rival Texas Rangers.

After grabbing some official scorecards and a brief tutorial from Dad and Mom (my wife keeps score for our Little League team), he did quite well. Unfortunately, the game had some unusual plays, numerous substitutions, and went twelve innings. ....big challenges for anyone keeping score the first time.

Alas, despite Lee pitching a gem, our Mariners found another way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and went down 2-0 in twelve.
