Primula veris: Tea time for bees
Just outside Chichester there is a reclaimed gravel quarry, that is home to thousands, upon thousands of Cowslips: Primula veris
They swirl and snake, acre upon acre, as if marking out an ancient pagan ritual site. Their vibrant yellow flowerheads stand atop tallish stalks, swaying and trebling in the breeze.
And at this time of the year, they provide a great source of nectar for bees.
