Bank Holiday Tulips
I had a lovely Bank Holiday today thank you.
In my last work, we didn't do bank holidays and we had such awful holiday allowance that when we eventually "gain" bank holidays, but couldn't work them (the type of work was that bank holidays were best selling days), we had to use them to bulk out the holidays we were taking!
Anyways. Today was a bank holiday, and I took it!
I woke with a bit of a hangover - too much cosmopolitan juice last night. But hey ho. Was lovely! I enjoyed it! Cup of tea in bed. Thank you husband! French toast, yum. Then sit about, bit of competitions, bit of tea drinking, bit of washing, but of this bit of that. Nant popped round for a bit, I lent her the strimmer and when she came back I gave her one of my freshly baked scones, and a taste of my soup.
Then Si and I went into the town for a wee bit of shopping. I have Tooli a pedicure, we had tea, suffered Miley Cyrus, and then I began the beautification process. I waxed, I plucked, and now my face is freezing with a mask on. Lovely.
The reason for the tulips. I got 4 bunches for my birthday (On Friday doncha know), and I have them dotted around the house. This morning the ones in my bedroom were folded over, double, down the side of the vase. Quick rescue run to the loo, cut half inch of the end, fresh water, and hey presto. Revived.
Made me think tho.... They were dying from lack of sustenance. Mmmm Maybe I shouldn't have cut flowers in the house, no matter how much I love them. Keep them in the pots and let em live.
