Final game of the season today apart from the play off semis`
The guy in the middle who looks like he`s about to collapse is Alan Birchinall MBE ex footballer and now the club Ambassador.
Every year for the past 30 seasons he has undertaken to run 50 laps of the pitch in aid of a chosen charity and for the last 5 seasons, he has always been saying `this is going to be my last one`
However today was not to be the last one and here he is on lap 25 running this year for `Help for Heroes`..we had over 200 members of the armed forces in the stadium today and boy did they get a storming welcome when they came onto the pitch.
Birch hopes to raise £50,000 today which will take his total for the last 30 runs to well over 1 million pounds, We`re proud of you mate, for a pensioner, you`re doing well.
