Struggle
I know this looks bad, but it's actually good.
After a slow start to the morning, we headed out for a fish and chips lunch and then a boat trip out to Bass Rock to see the birds. This is a trip we've been on a lot - but was the first time for our guests. Not a great day for it, as it turned out! The sea wasn't really that rough, but certainly rougher than when we've been on that trip before. So, soon enough, two kids were hurling over the side, and one grown up was looking decidedly green around the gills (though by sheer force of will managed to keep her chips down).
Here, a couple of gannets had got themselves tangled up in some rope. Our skipper hooked them out of the water and untangled them. Happily both birds flew off - well, if with egos a little dented. An earlier gannet with a broken wing proved more elusive (they paddle away if you try to hook them) so he had to be left to his fate.
Once back on dry land everyone was well again, and we had a lazy afternoon catching up on Doctor Who, planning the play list for a party we're all having in London next weekend, and fighting hunger pangs while faced with the delicious curry smells wafting from the kitchen...
Must eat now.
Backblipped yesterday if you can bear to see some lonely lost characters.
