horns of wilmington's cow

Baaaaaaaaa!!!

In case you missed it, which is more than likely because I've only just back-blipped it... Yesterday was my birthday (as in real birthday, not a blipbirthday...)

And today was a similar day. Wander by Figgate Park before 8, Sunday paper, lovely brekkie, phone my mum to wish her a happy birthday, work in the garden, out for a drive in the borders, more work in the garden, blip. C'est tout...

So what could be worth writing about? Well it's a while since I've done pointless fluff-movies. And a banner advert on a bus seen a few times in the last couple of days for Jennifer Lopez's latest vehicle (the Back Up Plan - the male lead isn't sufficiently important enough to warrant his name on the poster) provides the ammunition.

Oh it looks soooooo different from all the other movies out there. It looks clever. The title hints at J-Lo not actually planning to end up with the un-named guy on the poster. There's a list to the right which goes, "Fall in Love; Get Married; Get Pregnant", and cunningly, I presume in a hint at the complex plot, there are arrows swapping the place of "Fall in Love" and "Get Pregnant". It's so novel. I'm going to take a wild guess here that J-Lo is someone who has life planned out, probably a career girl who just hasn't met the right guy yet. Her sister, or best friend, is likely very settled, and her mother is constantly asking why she hasn't settled down yet.

And then she meets a guy, probably while drunk or something, has sex with him and falls pregnant. The two panic and get married, despite really loathing each other, but gradually through a series of hilarious japes and escapades come to love each other.

I honestly don't know why no-one has thought of that sort of story before.
