Concert blip #1
Bass at rest, but ready. Each season, our Long Bay Symphony (or parts thereof) will be 'hired out' to assist various community musical events with their performances. Today (1st May) is one of those concerts.
I left the house at 6:35am Sat. morning, drove 114 miles to the community of Hartsville, South Carolina. Our first rehearsal began at 10:00am. We broke for lunch at 12:30pm and returned at 2:30pm for the second rehearsal. At 4:30pm we were off to dinner.
The concert started at 8:00pm and was quite well received. Back in the car at 9:30pm for the 114 mile return home. Got home at 11:40pm a bit fried from the long day for the love of music (and a nice stipend as well).
The music, for me, started Friday night with a jazz trio (piano, bass, drums) gig at a local pub. Saturday is well documented above. Then it was up this morning (Sun.) to play at our 8:00am celebration service at church. The love of music is a strong motivator - a wonderful activity no matter your age!
