Roots And Shoots.

This is one of those I-might-never-see-this-again sort of blips.

As many times as I've cut into the flesh of an avocado and circled the stone with the knife, I've never had the stone fall apart allowing me to see the deleloping shoot inside it as well as a root working its way through the flesh. It was an ordinary fresh avocado, not one which was over-ripe and inedible.

When the girls were little we often put an avocado stone into a bulb vase so that we could watch it grow.

I've had a busy, tiring week which has showed in my lack of comments, sorry. Really looking forward to these next two days off, a day pottering about tomorrow then maybe somewhere further afield on Sunday! Thanks for all your appreciative comments on my red squirrel shot yesterday. It made me feel so priviledged to see it so close.

Have a nice weekend and Bank Holiday!
