Brown Trout

Sorry - more fish...

This was what I was trying to explain the other day - how beautiful the humble brown trout can be.

Started fishing in t-shirt weather with lovely warm wind, sunshine and flowers. Caught lots of little ones (some very little).

Then the wind turned to the east, it got cold and the sky turned a nasty sort of colour. Despite the cold wind (which usually puts the fish off) I managed to tempt this lovely fish from under the weeds near the shore of an island.

She was about a pound and would have been perfect for eating, but she was far too pretty and I would have felt terrible, so I put her back after taking her portrait. Swim away little mermaid...
