My first flight ever was in 1974!

I was an 18 year old Scottish farm boy, just out of High School, who decided for various reasons that University was not for him!

I'd never been out of Scotland so I decided to I fly to Montreal, then Ottawa and eventually onto Winnipeg, Canada, where I joined the Hudson's Bay Company.

The rest as they say is history! Yet in some shape or form I've been an itinerant ever since, including the entire duration of my BBC TV years.

People moan and groan about air travel, yet to this day I feel privileged as a human being to be able to fly anywhere, which I do a lot.
