A Stuckie that got stuck inside

Well sometimes blips just fall into your lap don't they ...

I was coming home from work thinking that I'd try out a zoom lens with image stabilisation that I've borrowed to take photos of some birds ... get home get the camera and when I got downstairs there is a strange noise from the lounge, so I went to investigate. I didn't even get a chance to put the new lens on ... there is this wee Stuckie (a.k.a Starling) flying about inside the house (it had come down the chimney). In situations like this I'm always torn between putting the camera down right away and helping the bird or firing off a couple of shots first, and seeing as I had the camera round my neck when it settled in a pot of herbs on the window ledge I quickly snapped off a few shots before opening the door to let it out (unharmed).

Anyway, just look at the sheen and colours on this beautiful bird, I really think such a beauty merits a better name than "Common Starling", don't you?
