Tree Planting

All the kids (well, there's only about 30 or so) at the boys primary school were planting trees in the local park this morning under the guidance of Ranger Bob.

Bob works for Fife Coast & Countryside Trust and he has been involved in various activities with the school this year.

Most recently the big class (Pr 4-7) made bird boxes, some to take home for their gardens & the rest they put up in the park.

Today's task was tree planting, the big class were given the job of breaking through the turf & digging holes for the trees, planting them & refilling the holes. Parents were tasked with pounding the stakes in as the park can be a very windy place.The little class (Pr 1-3) were in charge of wrapping protective plastic tubing round the trees when planted to stop the pesky rabbits munching the young trees.
